GSQT – In the beginning of academic year 2017, Ministry of Education and Training expects to publish the new curriculum and gather public opinion for 60 days before finish.

PhD Nguyen Minh Thuyet – Chief editor of General Education program said: “Ministry of Education and Training has passed the General Education program. The next step would be compile curriculum and educational activities, including experiencing activities”. Then, the general textbook will be made by organizations and individuals based on the new curriculum.

Since academic year of 2018 – 2019, the curriculum will be initiated and applied for general education and the new textbooks with successive method for 3 levels of education: primary, junior and senior high school.

However, in a review of the 2016-2017 academic year, which took place in August 2017, many localities and parents suggested that the implementation of the new general education program should be delayed.

With the new high school education program, Ministry of Education and Training will accept the comments and may propose to the Government and submit to the National Assembly for approval time, be more careful in developing and compiling the new curriculum and textbooks, especially the test phase as well as other necessary conditions for the implementation.
