Sweden supports Vietnam in assessing and improving English training

GSQT – Deputy MOET Nguyen Van Phuc and Mr. Pereric Högberg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden in Vietnam signed a memorandum of cooperation on assessing and improving English training in the period 2018-2020.
According to English skill assessment ranking published by Education First (EF) in 2018, Sweden is the leader in the foreign language competency index and ranks among the countries with high index of creativity. The right way to learn a foreign language is a very important foundation for Swedish successes today.
The content of the memorandum focuses on encouraging cooperation to exchange experience on English training, promote cooperation in assessing and improving English training for teachers, students and students.
Sweden will support free assessment of English skills such as reading comprehension, listening comprehension, grammar, and free training online. The results of the test only serve to self-assess English ability of participants and not officially recognize English competencies of teachers and learners in Vietnam.
In the period of memorandum, Sweden will work with MOET to develop a life skills club and English in some high schools, guide students to orient their careers and disciplines according to their abilities, interests, and help them on assessing and improving English training naturally.
It is expected that after the signing, National Language Project will coordinate with Sweden and EF to use EF online learning materials for English teachers in Vietnam.
