GSQT – Recently, the Oriental Development Research Institute cooperated with the Vietnam Association of Universities and Colleges to hold a scientific seminar with the desire that the product of education must be free people.

Dr. Vu Ngoc Hoang – Former Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of Propaganda Central Committee delivered a speech to the seminar, referring to urgent requirements for renewing thinking about education.

There are two fundamental questions that will follow us on the path of innovation and building an advanced education. That is, how is the product of education? And what do we need an education system to be able to form those people?

Free people

Education career is aimed at forming more complete people, first for their own goals and also to match the times in which they live.

Those are first of all people who are themselves, by themselves, people with purpose, not instrumental people, passive products, dependent, thought, and created by others for various purposes.

These must be people of honesty, kindness, and tolerance, and nobility; alien to lies, tricks, pettiness, and envy; rich in scientific and practical knowledge, capable of thinking and acting, developing comprehensively and maximally according to each individual’s own strengths.

These are people who are truly free, autonomous, independent, and creative; not slaves and incapable of self-control.

They have the courage to defend scientific truth. They are free from themselves and from all attachments and ordinances or thoughts. They are fully aware of the role and responsibility to participate in national ownership, in the spirit of freedom and democracy.

A practical education

To create the environment and the conditions for forming those people, what must be the product of education?

It is a pragmatic (not fictional), humanistic and enlightening education that focuses on human capacity development, and of course, it must be educated with a national spirit.

Education goes into the real goal of developing the human capacity, that is the capacity of each person and of the whole community, not having achievement disease, applying, buying reputation, heavy on qualifications.

A human education that is primarily geared towards the formation of honesty, compassion, and tolerance.

An enlightened education liberates people from all constraints of thinking to create a basis for capacity development.

Since then, to aim for all creations to show the endogenous strength of each person and of the ethnic community.
