GSQT – Nowadays, the emphasis put on education is increasing dramatically. In China, mini schooling structure with only 1 class includes few students are becoming popular in some big cities in China.
The Curionesty high school does not have a fixed teaching method or syllabus. Each teacher has to design their own set of plans. The semester is divided into 20 weeks, 2 or 3 of them are group projects, following by outdoor activities with certain topic. Some subjects are compulsory for students, such as English, music, geography, business; the optional subjects are chosen depends on student’s concern and the resource they can find on the Internet. Chi Xiao – the founder of this school states that: “Students can discover their potential to prove themselves as an architect, a chef or an owner of pizza’s.”
There is no correct statistic on the number of mini schooling structure in China, but this kind of schooling has appeared in big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Chengdu.
With the mini schooling structure, students are encouraged to learn, to interact with reality, the freedom to learn, creativity. Especially, students will receive the care from teachers. Let’s hope that mini schooling will become a method to enhance the education system, and will be applied worldwide.
