GSQT – On September 12^th, HCMC People’s Committee announces the conclusion of Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong on free school fee for secondary school students.

Accordingly, on September 10^th, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee chaired the regular meeting to receive the report on policy of free school fee for secondary school students. Attending the meeting were members of People’s Committee, representatives of leaders of Economic Committee – Budget Council, HCMC People’s Council, Department of Education, Department of Finance, Department of Justice.

After listening to the report of Department of Education and Training, opinions of participating units, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong concluded and directed: “Unifying the proposal of Finance – Education Department on August 28^th policy free school fee for secondary school students. Office of People’s Committee advised to submit to the People’s Committee. Ministry of Finance submits to Government for approval. Students are exempted from secondary school tuition.”

Previously, on August 13^th, at the meeting with Department of Education and Training HCMC on the preparation for the new school year, Secretary of City Party Committee Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan state: “HCMC is implementing the work as budget calculations to be able from January 1^st, 2019, secondary school students in HCMC. HCM will be exempted from school fees. This has been assigned to Department of Finance plans to submit to People’s Council for consideration and approval at the end of this year. The view of the city is that everyone has the right to education, everyone must be responsible for their children’s education.”
