GSQT – From now to the end of September, Korean Ministry of Education recommends that students in 26 countries appear to have variants of the coronavirus, including Vietnam and Korea, who do not want Vietnamese students to return to study.
26 countries on the list include: South Africa, Malawi, Botswana, Mozambique, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Brazil, Suriname, Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay, Philippines, India, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan , Vietnam, Nepal, Russia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Haiti, Angola, Kuwait, Trinidad and Tobago. In order to support international and Vietnamese students to return to study, Korean Ministry of Education will allow international students to study online to catch up on face-to-face courses when they return to Korea.
In the case of mandatory early entry, students from the above areas must pay for their own 14-day isolation in temporary care facilities located off the main campus. Ministry of Education will check the health status of students twice a day.
Minister Yoo Eun-hae said that the epidemic situation became serious because of virus variants. “We ask the universities and local authorities to coordinate so that the academic activities of the schools can take place stably in the next semester”, she said.
According to Korean Ministry of Education, more than 33,800 international students entered Korea in the first semester, only 18 percent of the same period in 2019. Among them, 255 people tested positive for nCoV, most of which were detected. while in self-isolation, the rest are determined through checks at entry points.
By now, South Korea recorded more than 200,000 people infected with nCoV. In which, 176,000 people have been discharged from the hospital, more than 2,000 people have died. From there, we can see that it can be very difficult for Vietnamese students to return to study.
