GSQT – In addition to members of HCMC Vietnam National University, 8 other universities have new enrollment methods: use the results of the competency assessment to recruit students.
Hong Bang International University applies 3 new enrollment methods: entrance exam organized by the school (30% of the target); admission to foreign national students or Vietnamese students studying foreign high school programs (5%) and considering SAT results (5%). The application of entrance exam is considered a move to improve the quality of the school.
Similarly, HCMC University of Technology (HUTECH) expects to recruit 40 formal university majors with over 5.800 targets. The school uses two independent methods, each accounting for 50% of the target with 14 subject combinations. The point of consideration for admission is equal to the average of 3 subjects in grade 12 plus the priority score (if any).
Meanwhile, Nha Trang University first used the graduation exam in 2019 (70% of the average of national high school exams + 30% of the average of the year 12 + priority grades) for admission. With this new way, it will no longer be considered according to the combination of 3 admission subjects but only one grade point (graduation consideration point), but it reflects the general knowledge and capacity of high school students.
Like Nha Trang University, 7 other universities will have new enrollment methods, using the results of the competency assessment of HCMC Vietnam National University including: An Giang, Vinh Long, Nguyen Tat Thanh, Lac Hong, HCMC Economic – Finance, HCMC Food Technology, Thu Dau Mot and Cao Thang Technical College.
