International Math Contest WMO 2017: Vietnamese obtains 2 silver – 7 gold medals

GSQT – In August 12th, the final round of International Math Contest WMO 2017 for students from 8 to 12 years old took place in Tianjin (China).
There are up to 120 candidates from Vietnam and other countries such as Britain, Australia, Canada, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia participated in this year contest.
International Math Contest WMO 2017 is based on creativity, teamwork, reasoning, analyzing and problem-solving skills. In addition, Mathematics knowledge is integrated with Physics and Technology to test students on how they apply and combine these understandings.
Generally, Vietnamese achieved 4 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze medals and was ranked third in unofficial summary table in International Math Contest WMO 2017.
After the individual writing round, students will go through teamwork round, creative design contest and so on. Finally, gold medal for teamwork round belongs to Chinese students, silver medal goes to Korean team and Vietnamese achieve bronze medal. In individual contest, beside 7 bronze medals, we have achieved 2 silver medals.
WMO was held since 2009 and has taken place in 31 cities of more than 11 nations. This is an “intelligent playground” for young talents who are interested in Math, where students from all over the world can challenge themselves.
