GSQT – AP Chemistry is a common program in most international schools. Though it is a really interesting program with practical experiments, Chemistry is a “hardcore” subject to learn. Therefore, the importance of AP Chemistry tutor for students who follow this program is high.
AP Chemistry provides chemical knowledge and experience of college level. The program is designed with the goal of giving the opportunities for students to be admitted or gain credits of various universities.
AP Chemistry included advance knowledge developing from basic one such as atomic structure, chemical bonds, chemical reactions, thermodynamics, equilibrium and kinetics. There are total 6 main concepts that students need to master. Moreover, there are chemical valence, chemical properties and a few chemical reactions and experiments cannot be experimented in practice in schools that students needed to learn. In general, Chemistry is a hard subject. Therefore, AP Chemistry is even harder since the subject is taught in English, causing a lot of troubles for students whose mother tongue is not English.
Nowadays, there are a lot of tutoring centers which offer AP Chemistry tutor but the number of qualified ones is small. Even if the tutor has good knowledge of Chemistry, it is still not efficient for students when he/she don’t have academic English or specialized English vocabulary and is experienced with teaching in a 100% English environment.
Moreover, a good AP Chemistry tutor needs to have sympathy with the difficulties students having to deal with and find the right method to teach Chemistry so that students can solve related problems and use the right chemical terms and words. Only tutors with all the qualifications mentioned above are able to teach in English effectively and help students improve.
