GSQT – Chemistry is not an easy subject for students, but it does not reduce the attraction. In contrast to IGCSE, the subject is much more attractive. But what is IGCSE Chemistry syllabus?
Chemistry plays an essential role in the medical industry such as developing preventive and curative drugs. This subject also has a significant influence on our daily life such as helping to protect the environment, creating soap and other substances…
When it comes to IGCSE, it is also a subject you expect to discover interesting things around. So how to achieve A* in IGCSE Chemistry? What is IGCSE Chemistry syllabus?
- Chemical principle: This section covers the states of matter, structure of atoms, the formula for calculating the relative mass and molar mass of gas, chemical formulas and chemical equations, ion compounds, covalent, metal crystals and electrolysis.
- Chemical elements: This section will guide you about the periodic table, in which group 1 include lithium, sodium and potassium, group 7 (also known as Halogen) include chlorine, bromine and iodine. In addition, there are topics such as oxygen and oxide, hydrogen and water, sulfur, carbonate and chemical reaction.
- Organic Chemistry: This section includes hydrocarbons such as alkanes and alkenes, organic compounds located in the homogeneous range of alcohol such as ethanol, learning more about synthetic polymers and natural polymers.
- Chemical Physics: This is a sub-discipline of Chemistry focusing on the study of Chemistry in terms of the Physics theory such as energy, chemical reaction speed and chemical equilibrium. This topic also studies acids, bases and alkalis.
- Chemistry and social issues: This section discusses the exploitation and use of metals as well as the impact of Chemistry on industrial production.
These are the most essential IGCSE Chemistry syllabus. Accordingly, each school will have a way of dividing different learning times.
