Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test that is used for admissions requirement of graduate schools (Master or PhD) in natural science and social science majors (except Medicine, Pharmaceutics, Law) in US. Here’s some GRE preparation experience:

1. Practice daily

Spend at least 15 minutes everyday to learn vocabulary, regularly review knowledge that you’ve acquired. During the preparation, especially 3 months before the test, you should focus on solving the test, spend more time to do mock tests with the time and format like the real ones. Solve as many tests as you can, because you may encounter some questions that you’ve solved when doing the actual test. Moreover, regular practicing also helps you get familiar with the test, so you can do it faster and time pressure won’t be a concern to you anymore.

2. Get suitable materials

GRE’s knowledge is profound, so you must be careful when choosing GRE preparation materials. Remember to get materials that are qualified and suitable to your ability as well as the test. Especially, don’t choose a book according to the authors, check its content to see whether it suits you and your current preparation process or not.

3. Study in group

You need to find yourself a GRE preparation group. Study group is collaborative, supportive as well as competitive that allows you to have deep understanding of problems which promotes thinking ability and creativity. In addition, study in group helps you not only consolidate knowledge, refer others opinions, but also improve communication English skills.

4. Ask help from seniors

You should ask someone who used to take GRE test to instruct you. They don’t need to have certificates to teach you; however, they must have GRE preparation experience or at least they are good at one of three sections in the test. You will have more motivation while being instructed carefully, and the preparation will become easier.
