GRE General Test is offered as a computer-based exam including 3 sections: verbal, quantitative and analytical writing. The verbal and quantitative sections have the score scale from 130 to 170, 1 point per question. The analytical writing section has the score scale 0-6, 0,5 point per question. The exam doesn’t focus on any specific fields, it’s an aggregation of skills which are considered as important to potential students.

GRE Subject Test is a paper test which is carried out worldwide 3 times a year. Unlike GRE General Test, this test will make you outstanding by focusing on your knowledge and abilities in a particular field. This test is used for measuring your college-level knowledge in 8 particular fields of study: Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology. In order to determine which test is suitable for you, you should refer thoroughly the program that you’ve taken. To the fields which don’t have specialized test, you should take general test.
