GSQT – IGCSE is a familiar program, not new to international students, but most people do not know much about what is IGCSE program.
What is IGCSE program? IGCSE is rated as the world’s most popular program for students ages 14-16. Students enrolled in this program will be academically qualified and flexible in the choice of subjects.
Accordingly, schools will list 70 subjects that the program offers to students around the world. Depending on the characteristics of each school, each country, each exam board, different subjects will be taught and administered.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will take part in the exam organized by Cambridge University’s (CIE) Examination Center (UK). The results will be scored on a scale from A * to G and recognized internationally. All the tests and assignments are concentrated in UK.
IGCSE is currently taught in more than 140 countries with more than 3,700 schools, including 1,300 in UK. Many large schools are increasingly using IGCSE more than other non-international programs because of the breadth and depth.
There are 3 modules of IGCSE including CIE, Edexcel and OCR. Entrance to IGCSE program is for students who have completed grades 8 and 9 with a minimum grade point average of C. English requirements are a minimum of IELTS 4.5 or 41/70 based on EF qualifications.
The purpose and function of IGCSE program is to “open the door” for students entering higher education programs such as IB, AP, A-level… or studies abroad in advanced countries such as UK, US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore…
In addition to helping students prepare better in academic skills, this program can also help students pass the language immigration, have the opportunity to advance well and have a better life in the future. Now you know what is IGCSE program.
