Secondary School Admission Test, or SSAT, is a standardized entrance exam for students from grade 5 to grade 11 entering private high schools in the US. The test is designed to measure students’ ability in high school core subjects.
SSAT measures the basic Verbal, Math and Reading skills a student will need if he or she wants to achieve good results in US private schools. This is an indispensable tool in helping education professionals in fair assessment and comparing the quality of admission candidates. SSAT exam levels
- SSAT Elementary Level: For children currently in grade 3-4, entering grade 4-5.
- SSAT Middle Level: For children currently in grade 5-7, entering grade 6-8.
- SSAT Upper Level: For children currently in grade 8-11, entering grade 9.
SSAT registration process
The entrance fee for international students is $279. Please note that you pay the fee 3 weeks before the exam to avoid additional fees such as $45 late payment fee, $85 late registration fee if you register within 2 weeks of the exam date, $35 change fee…
SSAT test is held several times a year. Students can take the test as many times as they want and up to 8 times per year.
Families are often encouraged to apply online at www.ssat.org. Families can also apply by fax or email for an additional fee.

Why is SSAT important?
What every student should remember is that your SSAT score will be compared with other candidates of the same age or academic group.
