GSQT – For anyone who loves language and literature, learning IB English is not difficult because it is your passion, but with some students are more tend to study natural subjects like Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, learning IB English really hard. So how to study IB English SL?
IB English is a course in IB program consists of two levels: SL (Standard Level) and HL (Higher Level).
At SL level (Standard Level), students are required to spend 150 hours at the school and the goals of IB English SL course include:
- Introduce document in various periods, styles and genres.
- Help students develop the ability to analyze individual texts and create related connections.
- Develop students’ proficiency in both oral and written.
- Encourage students to recognize the importance of the context in which the text is written.
- Remind students to respect for different views of others.
In order to know how to study IB English SL, you have to read books, scripts, novels… This helps you accumulate knowledge a lot over time.
Also, keep as many notes as possible about the content of the work, such as when the story takes place, when the author writes it…, helps you get ideas about the context, culture, thus making a better analysis.
You should also know the main subject because you will read through a lot of works and you can not remember all the important elements around the main subject if you do not review by yourself.
Another way to get how to study IB English SL is to learn a few quotations or literary texts that you have read. This is also a concrete way of helping to analyze the problem for your exam be more clear and convincing.
