IGCSE is an international high school education program for students in grade 9-10 in Vietnam, providing an excellent foundation for progression to higher programs such as A-level or IB.

Students can choose from among 70 subjects in 6 main groups: Mathematics, Natural Science, Languages, English, Social Science and Economics. IGCSE has 2 levels for each subject: Core and Extended. Core has a scale from C to G, while Extended is calculated from A* to E.

Like most international programs, IGCSE places emphasis on students’ self-discipline. Therefore, students need to know how to choose IGCSE program materials as follows:

• Teacher consultation: Before looking for learning materials, you should ask the teachers who have taken this exam in the past. During the consultation process, they will provide you with documents and tips that they have used.
• Prioritize choosing reputable materials: When looking for learning materials, you should look at reputable sources, avoid sources of unknown origin, one-way information and without certification. Actually, there aren’t any books that are suitable for everyone, but to choose a good IGCSE book, you can rely on a review on some major websites like Amazon or Ebay for references.
• Choose materials that suit your own abilities: This is the mistake that many students make. When you find good materials, you will stick with it, although you will not gain much from it because it is not suitable for your abilities. This brings lasting damage when you enter the IGCSE exam.
