GSQT – A-level is a two-year pre-university program recognized by universities around the world, especially in UK. But do you know what are the A-level subjects?
A-level lasted for 2 years and divided into 2 levels. The first year is called AS. Students will choose from 4 to 6 subjects to complete their AS-level exam. In the second year, called A2, you will choose 3 of the first year subjects to continue and finish A-level program in these three subjects. However, you can study more than 3 subjects if you demand. But what are the A-level subjects?
A-level courses currently offer more than 80 subjects. The choice of subjects is based on the student’s career orientation and ability to study, directly relative or as a minimum support to their major in the bachelor’s degree. When enrolled in universities, some schools will require background knowledge before beginning their studies.
During the courses, students will have to complete a large number of exercises, contributing to the development of necessary skills such as presentations, analysis and processing of information, and rhetoric. At the end, students will participate in a variety of learning activities such as group study, self-study to improve literacy, critical thinking and self-discipline in learning and development themselves.
A-level certificate is granted by Cambridge International Examinations Board (CIE) and is widely recognized in many countries around the world. A-level scores range from A* to E. Usually, grades A and B are required by top universities in UK, US, Australia, Canada, Singapore… but most are universities in UK.
High A-level scores also allow students to receive a credit exemption when they are in their first year of college. Choosing the right level of what are the A-level subjects will make it easy for students to get the high score they desire.
