Is it possible to win a scholarship from SSAT exam?
It’s possible. With the cost of a student a year studying in private schools in the US is very high, especially in boarding schools can be up to 50,000 USD to over 60,000 USD (equivalent to university level), the application for a part of the scholarship is the desire of most families.
Among other indicators, SSAT score is a criterion for scholarship consideration. At the Upper Level, scores above 2,100 can receive scholarships above 50% of tuition. But at the high school level, private schools in the US do not have a 100% scholarship policy.

How to calculate SSAT score?
Each question has the same scale. Each correct answer will score 1 point and each incorrect answer will be deducted 0.25 points. No points will be deducted if a question is left blank.
- Number of points based on a scale:
SSAT has 4 sections: Verbal, Math, Reading and Writing, in which Writing is not scored. The calculation of scores for the sections is as follows:
- For Middle Level (grade 5-7), Verbal, Math, Reading sections will have scores from 440-710, so the total score will be from 1,320 to 2,100.
- For Upper Level (grade 8-11), Verbal, Math, Reading sections will have scores from 500-800, so the total score will be from 1,500 to 2,400.
While the structure of the Middle and Upper tests is similar, the question types used for the Upper Level Test are more difficult than the other levels.
- Calculating points based on percentages (1-99%):
Percentage rankings enable schools to compare scores between students who have had similarities over the past three years. This can also check papers that are copied the same in the essay section, causing the offending students to return their papers or their academic advisor and not get points for that section. Does the above information satisfy your questions about the question “What is the SSAT exam?” yet?
