GSQT – Over the past years, more and more Vietnamese students have chosen to study abroad right after graduating from high school. But is it the smart solution to study abroad solution in the 4.0 era?
In the past 20 years, as the world has gotten flatter, the academic transition has also become easier. Since then, students has moved across national borders strongly.
The trend of cross-country education has brought great opportunities for learners. Some of the popular forms of affiliate programs include studying for a foreign degree at a branch campus of an international university or studying for a dual degree at two universities in two different countries…
Teaching can be in the form of online or distance teaching through cooperation with a local educational institution (under the form of a franchise with the same degree or dual degree) or a foreign educational institution in the host country.
These types of cross-border education have been growing rapidly due to the great demand from the international market to enjoy the education in UK or other developed countries as a smart solution to study abroad in the 4.0 era.
But it seems that over the years, most Vietnamese parents only know the popular form of studying abroad. The downside of these programs is students study the British National College program in the first 2-3 years and study the final year without having to study the entire program during 4 school year.
In addition, with not too difficult input, most affiliated universities in Vietnam do not actually have high rankings in the host country. Therefore, the forms of cross-border education somewhat have not exactly met its original goal – helping learners receive knowledge sources from two different cultures adequately.
Meanwhile, transnational education needs to be more multidimensional for faculty and students, both with the flow of students going to and from that country, both in the field of training and research. Students studying must “pass” language conditions, have the opportunity to study an international standard training program in the country, ensuring careful preparation before transferring abroad.
In this way, the smart solution to study abroad in the 4.0 era is really suitable for each student’s personal interests, academic achievements and financial capacity.
