Vietnam’s higher education rankings in Asia

GSQT – According to the official results published by QS to rank Vietnam’s higher education rankings in Asia at the QS APPLE Conference in Fukuoka (Japan), Vietnam has 8 higher education institutions in the top 500 in 2020.
There are 8 schools: National University of HCMC, National University of Hanoi, Can Tho University, Hue University, Da Nang University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ton Duc Thang University, Duy Tan University. In particular, National University of HCMC ranked 143rd, National University of Hanoi ranked 147th. Compared to the rankings of Asian universities in 2019, Duy Tan University was added as a newly developed private higher education institution in Vietnam.
QS Asia Organization ranks Vietnam’s higher education rankings in Asia based on 10 criteria with different weights including: Academic reputation (30%); Survey employers on the quality of graduates (20%); The ratio of lecturers/students (15%); Proportion of lecturers with doctorate degree (5%); The ratio of articles published by lecturers (10%); Cite each published research paper (10%); The ratio of international lecturers (2.5%); The proportion of international students (2.5%); Exchange of domestic students (2.5%).
Previously, in the 2019 world university rankings published by the QS World University Rankings of the UK educational organization Quacquarelli Symonds, Vietnam had two representatives in the top 1,000 best universities in the world for the first time: NU of HCMC and NU of Hanoi.
Recently, Times Higher Education (THE) announced the latest world university ranking results in an academic summit held in Zurich (Switzerland), which for the first time, three higher education institutions of Vietnam was announced the ranking with nearly 1,400 leading institutions of higher education in the world, including 2 higher education institutions in the top 1,000.
In the 2016-2020 educational science program, Ministry of Education and Training has also ordered the task of researching a university model to meet the industrial revolution 4.0 in order to rank Vietnam’s higher education rankings in Asia. The international statistics table has increased substantially, thereby affecting the quality of higher education in Vietnam.
