GSQT – To choose to study engineering majors, most international students choose Physics right from IGCSE program. To better understand the nature of the subject, we need to know what is the content of IGCSE Physics.
IGCSE Physics focuses on assisting students in understanding the technology world right now, helping them to be interested in science and the development of science. The main content of the curriculum is about the basic principles of Physics through a combination of theory and practice. Students also develop an understanding of the scientific skills needed to continue to higher level programs such as A-level, IB, AP… along with useful Physics skills to apply in daily life.
During the learning process, students will gain an understanding of how science is studied and practiced, thereby realizing that scientific research results can have both good and bad effects on individuals, plus communities and environment.
The content of IGCSE Physics consists of 5 large chapters with small topics inside including:
- General physics: length and time, movement, mass and weight, density, force, pressure…
- Thermal physics: simple molecular dynamics model of matter, thermal and temperature properties, heat process…
- The nature of waves, including light and sound: the general nature of waves, light, electromagnetic spectrum, sound…
- Electricity and magnetism: simple magnetic phenomena, electric quantity, electrical circuits, digital power, the danger of electric current, electromagnetic effects…
- Atomic physics: nuclear atoms, radioactive…
In each topic, it is divided into two parts that are suitable for students to choose the level as Core or Extended. Students who choose Extended will study through Core and learn additional modules for each chapter.
For IGCSE Physics, each student who selects Core or Extended will have to pass 3 evaluations in the form of test, theory, practice or practice replacements with a score 30%, 50%, 20% respectively. Now you know what is the content of IGCSE Physics.
